TRAINING TECHNICIAN

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes practical knowledge of educational principles to plan and execute CCAF program using processes that clearly apply or that are used repetitively for differing tasks to include accreditation and affiliation requirements. Knowledge of an extensive body of CCAF instructions and guidance to perform a wide variety of interrelated educational clerical work and resolve a wide range of unique problems. Knowledge of established program objectives, priorities, and practices requiring extended experience to initiate, plan, and coordinate a series of interrelated clerical activities. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of education procedures and practices of college-level education programs and their accrediting processes. 2. Knowledge of communication techniques, principles, and regulations in order to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in response to work-related problems and questions. 3. Knowledge of various educational testing methodologies available to students. Knowledge of AETC and CCAF regulations, and guidance for maintaining affiliation requirements. 4. Knowledge of payment and refund procedures at all local colleges and universities and base finance. Knowledge of personal computer and associated equipment. 5. Skill in counseling students or enrollees to establish educational objectives. Skill in conducting studies and preparing reports. 6. Skill in integrating a variety of types of software to generate products for a single purpose. 7. Ability to formulate, justify, and execute assigned budget. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK
Experience:
Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
