As a ITEM MANAGER (NUCLEAR) at the GS-2001-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Maintains DOE engineering technical data for nuclear ordnance materiel Federal cataloging. Responsible for the management and operational maintenance of the Nuclear Inventory Management and Cataloging System (NIMACS) classified database and other DOD-wide nuclear ordnance programs Develops and maintains accounting, reporting, and historical records necessary to maintain the national nuclear weapons stockpile database, and functions as the Nuclear Inventory Control Point. Provides nuclear weapons logistics information to authorized DoD organizations and the DOE Evaluates requirements, prioritizes workload, and assigns necessary tasks to the subordinate IM(s). The incumbent assumes a leadership role in establishing criterion for the IM(s) and enacts policies/procedures to accomplish established objectives.Obtains, schedules, manages, directs, controls, and/or provides item manager training of NLMC personnel assigned.Ensures that course material is tailored to meet DTRA needs. Conducts long range (5
years) planning and technical reviews of databases to identify common observations and ensure the validity of recommendations to mitigate concerns and vulnerabilities. Serves as the senior nuclear weapons SME for all nuclear weapons Item Management (IM) functions. Formulates the DoD position on matters related to nuclear weapons logistics IM and exercises authority to commit DTRA to courses of action associated with inventory management of weapon components such as base and military spare parts, war reserve end items, major assemblies, electronic component assemblies and preflight controllers required for field maintenance of the war reserve stockpile and for field maintenance of training weapons, test and handling equipment, shipping and storage containers, Source and Special materiel, and use control equipment. You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following
Qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Utilizing databases and electronic forms Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
