This is an Air Force Pathways Internship position located at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. The Pathways Intern Program is a planned, progressive education program that provides for the integration of a student's academic studies with target positions in the Federal Workforce. The Pathways Intern Program allows students to gain real, paid work experience while pursuing a diploma, degree or certificate in a particular career field. Work locations vary throughout Kirtland AFB, and the duties performed are designed to provide hands-on experience in the specific discipline for which hired.

Major Duties:
As a Student Trainee (O/A Clerk), GS-0199-07POT09, you will perform selected tasks and phases of routine studies and projects that require application of basic occupational field theory and principles in the technical area of space and directed energy. You will also:
Participate with senior personnel in conducting non-routine projects.
Provide assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects, and initiatives.
Study Air Force requirements for the projects and researches and studies the current body of precedents and technical knowledge.
Assists in the collection and analysis of information and data, the documentation of findings, and the development of reports.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of basic occupational theory, principles, concepts, and practices in the technical area of space and directed energy.
2. Skill in applying basic occupational theory, principles, concepts, and practices sufficient to perform student trainee assignments.
3. Ability to follow instructions and guidance to complete assigned tasks and communicate information to others in oral or written format.
4. Ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather and interpret pertinent data, and apply established rules and procedures in order to recommend effective solutions.
5. Ability to learn and apply basic investigative techniques to accomplish work in the subject-matter field.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
REQUIREMENTS FOR INITIAL APPOINTMENT
To qualify for a GS-07: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education, bachelor's degree with superior Academic Achievement as provided in the General Policies and Instructions for Qualification Standards Operating Manual, or 5 academic years of pre-professional study.
To qualify for a GS-09: Completion of 2 academic years of graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.

Pursuing a Master's Degree, in any field of study related to the position.
Enrollment must be at least half-time course load as defined by the educational institution (typically three hours or equivalent)
Maintain good academic standing (typically no less than 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale, or school's equivalent grading scale).
